Five Children and a Triceratops

So yesterday the Craddock's took a little trip to Target. I needed to purchase a couple of toys for my speech kiddos and managed to convince Kyle that shopping can be a fun family outing for all. A couple of toys, a game, a pair of jeans, organic popcorn, and a bottle of wine later, we returned home.

One of the toys I purchased was a ball-popping cause and effect-type toy made by a company titled, "B." Odd name, I originally thought. Clever on further consideration. If you have young children you have probably seen this brand of toy, marked by a trademark subdued but very colorful scheme and recycled packaging. It was as I was un-packaging and preparing this toy for therapy that I stumbled upon a great treasure. Tucked into my new B. toy was a small booklet (made of recycled paper) that contained nothing but quotations from some (seemingly random) young children. Now whether it really was that funny, or just seemed so at the end of a long day, I can't tell you for certain. I can tell you they made me laugh enough to share here, in hopes you'll do the same.

Here are my favorites:

B. wise:
"Soda is not good for you body. You drink it and then you want more and more. The next thing you know you are smoking."
~Alyssa, Age 5

B. precise:
"I'm going to have five children and name them Cabbage, French Toast, Table, Shower and Chair."
~Skye, Age 6

B. worried:
Maddy: "What does it mean that it's Election Day?"
Mom: "Today everyone picks who they want to be President and run our country."
Maddy: "Oh. I hope they don't pick me."
~Maddy, Age 4

B. experimental:
"Water is composed of two gins, Oxygin and Hydrogin. Oxygin is pure gin. Hydrogin is gin and water."
~Sam, Age 11

B. honest:
"Mommy, you're the most beautiful woman in the whole world I ever saw before I left the house."
~Callie, Age 2

B. imaginative:
"My triceratops is afraid of our dust bunnies."
~Clara, Age 4

B. curious:
"If the day I came out of your belly is called my birthday, what is the day I went in called?"
~Rio, Age 4

Oh.MY.

Have I mentioned how much I love children? I always told my co-workers at school that I should've kept a journal of the things our students said on a daily basis. I could've held my own with this company for certain. :-)

Is anyone else a lover of B. toys and can you tell me if I should be so lucky to find a booklet of these nuggets of truth and wisdom in every toy? If so, I might be on my way to pick up a couple more...you know, for Wesley of course........
