I've been a married woman for one year today. Kyle completely surprised me yesterday by taking me to the beautiful hotel where we spent our wedding night last year. We had a "hotel day" complete with the same room, champagne and strawberries, lounging by the pool, watching tv and enjoying room service and each other's company. Kyle knows me so well...a day of relaxing with my love is just what i needed. :-)
I've been especially nostalgic today, and have had so much fun remembering our wedding and all that it meant. It was a perfect day, and not because of the flowers, or my dress, or anything else, really, although those things were all wonderful. It was so perfect because, in God's perfect timing and provision, he watched as I gave my life to someone I had prayed for since I was a little girl. And that day I felt His presence.
Thank you, Jesus, for my husband, my marriage. Use it for Your glory, and to make Kyle and I more representative of You.

Because I am a sucker for traditions, and much to Kyle's dismay, I froze the top layer of our wedding cake. We had pretty low expectations for year-old freezer cake, but were so happily surprised when our cake turned out just as yummy as it was a year ago! (I'll thank my mom for her excellent cake-wrapping skills). I suppose I should also give most of the credit to Cindy and Ashley Swilley, cake makers-extraordinaire!
Happy anniversary, Kyle! Thank you for loving me in spite of me. I love you!
