Happy Birthday, Julie!

My sweet sister is 19 today. One more year in her teens. Live it up, smalls! Julie is special. Everyone who knows her knows this. But in this past year of her life, I've seen a new side of her character, of her perseverance, of her faith, and of her spirit. Julie's first semester of college has not come easy for her. But she's a fighter. And when giving up was the easier, and even seemingly necessary solution, it wasn't even an option for Julie. She relied on the strength of our Lord to get through each day, and sought the council of family and friends. And she prevailed! As I write, Julie is on her way home for Christmas break, having finished her last final at 6:00 pm. She'll arrive at about 10:30, and we'll be off to a late-night birthday celebration!? Ideal? No. Memorable? Oh, yes! I love you dearly, Julie. Happy happy birthday!
